1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Lost Art Games platform, including the Scuotes and Letterbox puzzle games (collectively, the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Lost Art Games, LLC ("we," "our," or "us") provides an online puzzle gaming platform featuring daily word games including Scuotes (quote puzzles) and Letterbox (word grid puzzles), leaderboards, and private squad competitions. The Service is available via web browser and does not require a native application download.

3. Accounts

To access certain features of the Service, you must sign in using a Google or Microsoft account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activities that occur under your account.

  • You must provide accurate information through your OAuth provider.
  • You may not use another person's account without permission.
  • You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.
  • We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

4. Free and Paid Features

Free Features

Anyone may play the daily puzzle without registering. Registered users can track their personal scores at no cost. To appear on the global leaderboard, users must be a member of a Squad.

Paid Features (Squad Sponsorship)

New squads receive a 30-day free trial period. Each user is eligible for one free trial only; subsequent squad creations require immediate payment.

After the trial period, squad creators sponsor their squad members by paying an annual fee per invited member. Pricing is based on the number of invited members (the squad creator's spot is free):

  • 1-5 members: $3.00 per member per year
  • 6-10 members: $2.75 per member per year
  • 11-20 members: $2.50 per member per year
  • 21+ members: $2.00 per member per year

Squad sponsorship provides access to private squad leaderboards, squad chat, and member management features. Squads may have up to 50 total members including the creator.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
  • Harass, abuse, or threaten other users through squad chat or any other feature
  • Use automated tools, bots, or scripts to interact with the Service
  • Attempt to manipulate leaderboard rankings or game results
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure
  • Create multiple accounts to circumvent restrictions
  • Create multiple squads or accounts to circumvent trial limitations
  • Share offensive, obscene, or inappropriate content in squad chats or suggestions

6. Intellectual Property

All content, design, code, and other materials on the Service are the property of Lost Art Games, LLC and are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. The quotes used in puzzles are attributed to their original authors and are used for educational and entertainment purposes.

7. Squad Rules

  • All squads are private and invite-only.
  • Squad creators are responsible for managing their squad and its members.
  • Squad creators are responsible for sponsorship payments.
  • Members may leave a squad at any time.
  • We reserve the right to remove squads or members that violate these Terms.
  • Squad chat content must comply with the acceptable use policy above.

8. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, LOST ART GAMES, LLC SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU HAVE PAID US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRIOR TO THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause, with or without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will survive, including intellectual property, disclaimers, and limitations of liability.

11. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.

12. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of material changes by posting the updated Terms on this page. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
